we went to Hog's Breath at vivo city. (not exactly fantastic...i won't be returning. cos' it's EX). kinda liked its lively atmoshphere thou'... live guitar & solo performance..friendly staff.. d's ah ma didn't like the food... from what i heard, the salmon was not fresh. she didn't join us for the cake-cutting at dear's house... so here are the pictures! i can tell dear was really happy. look at the pictures. you can tell it too! i bought the nice coco exotic from fourleaves for dear to try... he liked it :) we only ate 4 slices. the rest of the cake was brought back to my hse... hahah..
this year's atmosphere's better....i hate it when people celebrate other ppl's birthdays with those not-the-least-bit-excited facial expression. there are people like that. good thing sam & uncle looked smiley that day. not the i-dun-care-about-birthdays-look... i think his family doesn't care about birthdays in the recent years. darlie also another one. that's me la. i care about birthdays. i need a cake for a small celebration. i will make sure i celebrate the birthdays of people whom i care a lot with them... my G4,my boyfriend, my family members... yeap...
hope darlie had a good time last friday... 10 more days to our japan trip!! i want the the exchange rate to go higher!! 10 more days. i'm gonna eat good food there~~!!! YAYYY

singnet broadband will be activated on 24th dec. after we're back from Japan. since my starhub ends on 20th.. so might as well. don't waste money. i'm getting my ipod touchhh only in January i guess... good things deserve a long wait.... hehe..
all people out there... if you're using starhub maxonline and there's no more contract, switch to singnet now to get your ipod..!

vaio is confirmed. i'm gonna get it tmr with daryl. mummy pay up front for me, i'll pay her by installments.
it's the mio plan stuff that's confusing me... everyone says it's lousy...alamak.. for the past one hour, i've been thinking should i just get singnet broadband.. it's 10+ bucks cheaper than what i'm paying now. plus it's an integrated wireless modem that will be given (mine is now a lousier router) AND it gives a FREE ipod touch!! sounds good yea? =)
still going down to comcentre tmr. if nothing goes wrong, i should be getting my laptop & free ipod touch along with the singnet bb plan. going down with dear becos he's going comcentre for a job assignment too. hehe.. no mio plan, no need to worry what phone to get if they really offer me to chance to buy phone. no nice phones that i fancy either.
hope nothing goes wrong... we live in a world of technology. no joke. i was overwhelmed by the wide range of choices for broadband plans, ipods, phones and laptops............ since yesterday LOR!

so we went to use the VIP card & vouchers given to us and ate our lunch at spageddies. folks, i don't like the food at all. so please don't bother trying it. i think secret recipe serves much nicer food... okay, maybe it's just my FULL-OF-CHEESE-and-NOTHING-ELSE lasagne. but tze kwang's spagetti with meatball also was a bang-head-dish. i like the caesar salad more than my main. haha...
4 of us. 2 rounds of game at Marina Sq bowling alley. bad bad bad for me. not usual standard. haha. wash the long gang dunno how many times.. the pro guy beside us. i think his scores was 3 times mine. tmd. but it was a very enjoyable day out with them 3...
glen and i looked as tall as them. haha... nah! hy & tze kwang were below the step... i also got to know the whole story & scenes of the movie Lust & Caution. Glen narrated it soooOOoooOO clearly. hahahah... but still, i won't be able to watch it. i can't watch RA stuff. i'll be forcing myself. bahhh.after the day out, i got home. opened my mailbox and..... i'm going back to DHS.... because i need to pack my stuff and go!! hehe..the letter is here... i'm going NIE next january.. :)

talking about bills. i'm intending to get Mio plan. help me save some money. starhub has been sucking my money dry for years. whopping 58 bucks each month. almost 80% of the cost of mio plan which includes residential line, mobile phone line & broadband. gonna do the transfer of accounts....gonna go down to singtel comcentre this thursday and apply for it.
i think i wrote in my blog few weeks back. i said daryl is helping me get a ipod nano. STRIKE THAT OFF MY LIST. because i saw the sony vaio CR 23G laptop yesterday. red one. I'm getting that instead. i mean I WILL REALLY GET IT. interest free instalment if you pay by credit card. after knowing the way credit card installment payment works, both daryl and i were stunned. so what i intend to do now is to apply for a UOB singtel credit card on my own. use the card for the payment for my laptop.everything seem clearer to me now. over the past few weeks i've been thinking of these questions------> "should i apply for a credit card?", "is there a need for it?", "UOB or Citibank?"

yes, i need a card because i wanna get my laptop.
UOB singtel card is my choice because UOB has SUPER LOT of treats (food & shopping!) for its card members. this card gives rebates on my greater singtel bills after i sign up for Mio plan...
the laptop is nice. daryl likes it too.. he suggested we share it. nahhh... haha it's to replace my old desktop. the7 year-old desktop which runs on pentium 3, had it repaired once or twice, its original keypad spoilt because i spilled water on it last yr, its speakers spoilt recently, its original monitor spoilt 2 years back. the desktop which runs originally at 64 Ram. now 300+. it takes 5 minutes or more to start up. its response are so slow that none of you can't imagine.... desktop, you shall rest in peace.... :) it's time to change to a laptop. violet's RED vaio. gotta settle so many things before i can get you. even daryl said it's a good deal this time because this time round, this is a NEED & not a WANT...
watched the new takuya's drama box set last week. started on monday evening. i finished all 10 episodes within one day. finished on tuesday evening.. something new to me... not about his love story with another actress or what. but his wife in the show is very pretty... the story is about him fighting for his dreams.. the ending was super sad. i don't like the idea of characters played by takuya dying in dramas. overall, i would say it's a nice show. even my mum watched the first few discs with me. glad i bought the collectible version :)
put up and decorated the christmas tree for daryl & family over the weekend. they don't seem excited. erm. but i had fun. that's the most rewarding thing. samm is coming back today from brisbane. we're all going to receive her.

i watched HERO the movie on saturday with daryl. official showing date is 22nd. i watched the sneaks. i found it nice. really. watched the drama during sec 4 (zhehao lent it to me). the whole show was funny. the director's way of bringing out humour in the show is quite special and different. and it was this year that they produced a sequel to the first serial. a dvd that's about 3 hours long. and finally, the movie is out. at the age of 22, i behaved like a kid in the cinema, laughing when takuya looked so cute. people who didn't not watch the first 2 parts of HERO may feel a bit lost here and there. i took pictures with the posters in plaza sing. hahah... soOooOOoooo handsome larh!!!! 
oh, in the photos you'll see my new hairstyle. shorter, red hair. not exactly red, reddish brown. i loveeeeeee it!! exactly how i wanted it to be! ok anyway, i always get so excited when his new shows or anything about him is out. i did not buy his drama serial of 2007. don't know why. i think it's because i found the drama BOX ugly. so the craze continues, after watching the movie, i wanted to get hold of his drama called "hua li yi zu". went into poh kim with dear and his dad at habourfront centre yesterday. $49.90 new edition from hongkong. with exclusive interviews and cut scenes. the box looks cool...really the type for collection. i couldn't bear to part with the money thou. 50 bucks leh. but dear said just get it larh. hahahah... yay!! i've finally bought it!! gonna watch it. holiday days now mahh. sleep late wake up late. nobody cares. muahaha..i'll squeal when i see his gatsby advertisement on tv....his big posters at mrt stations...it's up to a stage whereby i'll just buy whatever that is related to him & within my means. i treat this as a hobby. takuya kimura collection. :) don't ask me how much i've spent over the years man. i'm going japan to search for his stuff!
met up with june & ps on friday afternoon at holland v's coffee club. we shared the sinful mudpie. good chat girls!! we're going to have high tea at goodwood park hotel soon!!! gonna dress nicely and act tai tai. hahaha stupid idea of ours.

i read my own blog archives. saw the picture of dunkin' donuts in bangkok... I MISS THEM SO MUCH SUDDENLY!!! i shall anyhow whack the next time i go bkk again. as for now, i'm on diet. a very strict one. cos i'm seriously FAT. hope to slim down. cos i will go japan whack sushi, takopachi, ramen, bbq food and their super nice red bean & vanilla ice cream!!! hurhur... i can't wait! 4 weeks more...
the show just ended. the new 9pm show is about family violence. something so familiar yet distant from my family.. mum had expressed quite a bit of emotion while watching the show... i was frowning all the way when the scenes of the guy bashing up his wife were shown. men who beat wife and children are bastards and nothing else. they deserve no pity should their wife and kids leave them one day...

last minute decision to go dbl o last saturday. not many of us. just me, daryl, lennart, edwin, hazel & evan (both are lennart's friends). oh plus another 2 korean girls. whom we got to know on the dancefloor.
these were what i had : bacardi breezer, half a jug of vodka ribena, a bit of the jug of screwdriver, 4 tequila shots. lennart kept buying me shots. haha.
quite a lot. 4 shots. the max i've ever had. but not high... next time should mix. i was giddy once i stopped moving. so i kept dancing with the guys, but in the end all said tired. so only jude (korean) danced with me. very friendly and pretty girl... had bah kut teh with the o-so-tired-n'-hungry daryl after we left the club. we ate but both were giddy and tired. just ate because the food was in front of us. and yes, i sent him back. hahah. back to my hse larh. darlie is old...drank less than me but he puked and had stomach ache n all.
sunday was a day in town with him and his dad again. i nearly fainted when they looked at the cars at civic plaza. takopachi balls saved my life! i'm so gonna eat many of them in japan!! hahah... we had dinner at this indonesian restaurant called "warong M nasir" along the killiney road. same row as the killiney kopitiam. very tasty and power nasi padang. to our surprise, the meal wasn't expensive at all...considering the place and decor... :) you guys can try the food there if u're malay food lovers!
just had a haircut today. i may dye it red. :) no more school after this friday. that's one & a half month's long break for me.
have been reading news off channelnewsasia.com, zaobao.com & electric newpaper in school every day.
chaos everywhere. it gets very tiring. you can't even remember which places are having war or riots. you get the countries mixed up. everywhere is chaotic now. palestine, pakistan, Israel, myanmar etc. u have your emergency rule and protests.
disasters everywhere.... terrible waves in rage and oil spill in Russia. huge fire in London. flood in japan.
quite disheartening. you just switch on your laptop every morning and these are the news you read. EVERY DAY. what is this.... market crashing soon. all bad things happen at the same time.
i believe D-day will come soon. much sooner than what most of us expect.

i told carol my boss Glen Ong looks very handsome and cool. wanna take a picture with him. hahaha and she told glen ong all that i said. he said no problem taking picture with me to carol and my super nice lady boss said i owe her a huge favour. hahah... he kept saying "thanks violet" when i served food to their table... happie happie... i looked stiff in the photo. but who cares! haha... he's v tall!! flying dutchman was very friendly too~!!

ok enough of the bad things. let's talk about shopping! went to marina square with dear last thursday. isn't it strange? violet actually didn't buy a single item.. ok lah, a beanie for our japan trip. darlie bought the same one as me. we looked cute. haha... he bought his thermal wear and our woolen socks. all geared up for our trip!!! 37 more days to go.... they are most probably going to be the best 10days in my life~!! oh back to the topic, dear bought a new white polo tee and a new pair of berms to match the pair of loafers i bought for him (as bdae present). made me angry on wednesday. i wanted to look mad when i met him but he looked quite good in his new style of dressing. i ended up smiling. tsk. i failed. bahhh
friday was ktv session with my colleagues from DHS. went quite well...managed to make it after the long meeting that does not concern me at all i guess. got tricked into buying a 10 dollar charity ticket. tskkkk. haha nvm... supposed to have another session in the night with darlie and his colleagues to celebrate one guy's birthday, in the end it was called off. after a full dinner, darlie wanted to go out. (seems like he doesn't like my house lor.) so we drove to holland v for coffee at the coffee club. very very huge mudpie and iced coffee. the 2 fat pigs then returned home.
collected my driving license on saturday morning. finally!!! haha.. this card cost me $1300+. met up with ryan and bunch in the night. many attended the gathering. haha they teased daryl over his dressing and shoes.. what ah sia kia. pi pi pi. we went to this place at owen road. cafe domus i think. the whole decoration and interior design is very nice. took some pictures. take a look. we had beer. i took only one bot. i'm not a beer person. they said "violet don't drink beer, she goes by shots.." hahah... quite true... anyway, the munchies at cafe domus were all nice... i did not drink much but i sure ate a lot. haha. i'm more of a eating person than a drinking person. this is one thing i have in common with darlie. :)
we went to mervyl's house for more drinks. red wine this time. the wine was smooth. so i had 3 glasses. so much more than usual (which is ard half a glass to one glass). ate tidbits... was so tired yet no one wanted to leave yet. haha darlie fell asleep on the couch. ann, bryan & merv got a little tipsy i guess. oh! 8 of us sat in jasper's BM 5 series. power larh power. can move off as if the car did not feel our weight. jasper's cornering was scary and exciting. hahahha.... disco car. loud music. people at the back singing. and shouting directions at jasper to guide him to the right place. crazy people.i was so tired in the night that i talked nonsense before i slept. daryl had to tolerate me. hahah...
sunday was a day in town. saw the subaru challenge. erm. i wouldn't wanna try that. i'll go insane.
this week and next week will be the last 2 weeks of work for me. report 8-12noon. yup. nothing has been assigned so far. so i'm just in school for 4 hours doing my own stuff. untrained teachers... don't even have to attend the workshop today. so instead of staying back till 5pm, we could leave at 12noon again. what can i say...
